Woke up this morning to news that one of my Professors from McMaster University passed away this weekend after a battle with cancer. She was only 46 years old.
I only had one course with Sue, but it was one of my first courses in University. After that I worked with her several times through the Geography and Earth Sciences Society (which I was VP and President of during my last two years at Mac). After teachers college, I returned to Mac for a year where Sue helped us create a grant in order to re-design the first year geography classes and we also worked togetherĀ on a application for a teaching award for another professor. Last year she won a 3M Teaching award for her work.
I am very sad to hear about her loss and cannot quite believe it. I found this blog today written about her and the writer does a good job in commerating what Sue had achieved in her life.
RIP Dr. Sue
