See ya Humidity

Happy Monday!

Just finished watching Week 2 of Amazing Race Canada – as much as I made fun of the fact that Amazing Race Canada would only occur in Canada, it has been fun watching the teams compete in areas that I am familiar with. They started in Niagara Falls and competed in British Columbia this week and last. Next week they are in Calgary. I am hoping that they end up in Ottawa at some point (I’m sure they will, it is the Capital of Canada?!?). I did notice this week that Tim Horton’s appeared a couple of times – it would make a good drinking game! 😉

So the weather has changed for the better and for the past few days the humidity has eased. The weather has still been in the mid to high 20’s (70’s for the American folks), but with little to know humidity. Last night I went on a run for Max at 6pm. I do not remember the last time I went out for a run at 6pm. It was so nice out that we went for a 6K run rather than the 4K I had planned. It was a slower 6K (around 6:50 pace – mostly due to a few walking breaks), but still a good run. Many other people were out as well. Nice to get out while the sun was still out!

Today I had planned on going for a swim out in the swimming section of Mooney’s Bay, but the red flag was up meaning that the bacteria levels were a bit high. So therefore I skipped the swim. Instead I did 12 runs up the hill with Sasha (other Track Coach)  that is right beside the track. The weather was beautiful again, so I didn’t feel like total death during the hill workout today (well until the end). Speaking of swims, my tri shorts and top came in the mail today – I liked the handwritten thank you on the invoice. The top is a little snug in the waist, but I don’t think that buying a different size would help as the top part of my suit was perfect.

In other news – for my fellow Trader Joe’s Friends – has anyone else had to go to the cash and ask for Cookie Butter?  P was in a TJ’s yesterday and went to pick up some Cookie Butter for me. Apparently at this store they have it locked up because people have gone nuts and bought the stuff by the case. Anyone else had this experience?  So far my Cookie Butter haul is only at 1 jar – that is not enough!!!

It is a peanut butter like spread made out of specaloos cookies – so good with apples and toast, even though it kind sounds gross, it isn’t!

I tried to buy Cookie Butter on Saturday when I went to Trader Joes. They were sold out, but the woman who waited on me at the checkout said that they had to keep it behind the counter in some stores because people would buy a ton and then sell it on EBay?!?!?

That is what P was saying the store told him. I remember seeing it on Ebay awhile ago. You have to go back and get some Cookie butter next time!

I’ll have to watch for the Amazing Race coming through town. This is the first I have heard of it!

I think we got your humidity! Yuck! It’s not as bad as it gets in Ontario but it’s still icky. I hope it goes elsewhere by tonight when I have to go out for my run.

You want your tri suit to be a bit snug. It gets loose in the water, rides up and is just not good if it’s too loose to start with.

Cookie butter? That sounds like something I would like to eat a lot of! I’ll have to try some when I go to the States in the fall.

Tri suit – what I am thinking. The top part fits well and I don’t want to get a medium (where the size chart says it is like 2 inches bigger than my size), and be floating around. I guess I am also not used to super tight clothes 😉

Do it!! Go to Trader Joes and pick up a jar!
