I competed in a Tri and I didn’t come Last

Short post – full recap to come in a day or two.

But – I completed my first triathlon!

Swim – 200m

Bike – 20K

Run – 2K

Swim – 11:26 (in the middle of the pack)

Bike – 1:00:20 (freakin mountain bike is all I can say)

Run – 12:33 (11th overall – although I’m sure I was faster – according to Mr. Garmin – but there is zero transition times listed)

Total Time – 1:24:16

Place – 30th Overall, 22nd Female

I will go into more detail in a full race recap – but basically I ran a very smooth and comfortable race. I wasn’t that far off top 10 – and really it all comes down to the bike. Next time = road bike!

Congrats on your first tri! You must be very pleased. I spent some time watching how the transition zone works, definitely thinking of trying a du next year.

I really enjoyed the 10k race. I thought I wouldn’t like 2 out and backs but in a way it helped break up the race mentally. I was really pleased with my time since I wasn’t going all out.
