Yes, I know – I dropped off the face of the earth for a bit. Having Max home and trying to “set up Christmas” in two days meant that there was not much time spent on the computer. In fact I think my computer stayed off for a few days, whoa! After Christmas I ended up being fairly sick with death cold 2014 and also went to my parental units. I’m still sick. Max is napping right now, so I’m taking the time to write while I have a few spare moments.
Christmas was fine. Max has kind of figured out what Santa is all about. We had tons of food: cheese, bread, turkey, ham, cake. But with one week left for vacation, the New Year’s week is fairly slow. Max was spoiled with the amount of presents he received – almost all were given to him by other people. I bought P an iPad, so he has a new toy too! I received mostly clothes and snow tires 🙂
Because it is almost New Year’s Eve – I figured I would do my 2013 goals recap. I set fairly simple goals last year because I wasn’t sure what the year would present. Probably a good thing….
2013 Goal Recap
– Find some job stability.
Did not happen. Actually my job situation got worse – a whole lot worse.
– Keep my closet organized.
Met this goal! Actually my drawers are still in tip top form – organized just the way I did it a year ago. I do need to sort through my closet again.
– Take better care of my stuff.
Meh. I don’t think I will ever learn this one. I’m trying to keep the new car clean though!
– Read one book a month.
Did not happen. I did read a bunch of things for school, re-read a few books, Lauren Graham’s novel and the Hunger Games Trilogy.
– Drink less coffee and more tea.
Goal Met! Thanks to David’s Tea!
– Don’t be lazy at night.
Goal Met! I very rarely slow down until around 9pm. Hence why the blogging has dropped off significantly.
– Save more $$
Not even close. Thank you job situation!
– Start a RESP for Max
Haven’t done this yet either.
– PB in the 5K and 10K.
I did PB in the 5K – but I did not run a 10K this year.
– Go swimming.
I have gone swimming! I’ve been in a city pool a few times as well as a few lakes.
– Go to the gym at least 2x a week.
Goal kind of met – I’ve been working out at least 1x a week in the gym – sometimes more, sometimes less
– Start strength training again
Goal met! Still need to work on this a bit more though
I would like to say I made a reasonable effort on my goals this year. Some goals were just out of my hands though. We will see what 2014 holds. I have no real set goals for 2014 other than run a marathon and find a stable job.
With that, I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable New Year’s Eve. I leave you with a picture of Max, rolling around the floor at the electronics store…..
