Thursday Thoughts

YAY THURSDAY!

We all know I get a bit excited for Thursday TV night – but I’m also ordering pizza for dinner tonight, so extra happy happy.

Amanda at Running with SpoonsΒ always write a Thursday’s are for Thinking Out Loud on her blog – and last week I joined in. So why not do two weeks in a row?

Thinking-Out-Loud2

Thought 1 – Bittersweet Grey’s

If you are totally not with it in terms of Grey’s Anatomy News – stop reading. This really isn’t a spoiler since it has been in the news for months and is widely known – but Sandra Oh is leaving the show. Cristina Yang is one of my favorite TV show characters of all time, and definitely one of the main reasons I have been watching the show since season two. Sandra Oh is also from Ottawa (I work 5 minutes from where she used to live) and so that is great too πŸ™‚ Tonight’s episode starts the beginning of Cristina’s farewell. I’m curious of how they are going to do this – because normally they just kill characters off. Apparently that is NOT happening -so a first for Grey’s?

Thought 2 – Lunch Time Supervision

I have my very first scheduled lunch supervision in my seven years of being a teacher (I’ve covered supervisions though). I have “foyer duty” which means I get to wander around near the community centre – I think? I have no idea how I’ve avoided lunch duty for so long, but it was bound to happen!

What I usually do at lunch (but with more food)

Thought 3 – Pace Bunny Nervousness

I am pacing the 48:00 5 mile group on Sunday. It is the first time I’m pacing a race, so I’m a bit nervous about it. I know I can hit 48:00 as I did it the other day and 52:00 for 5 miles is my usual ‘slow pace’. 48:00 for 5 miles is a 6:00/km which is pretty comfortable for me (I usually race 5:10-ish). I know I will be fine when I get going – I just have to make sure to NOT run fast!

Thought 4 – Missed all the Dome Meets

As I have previously mentioned – I am not coaching high school track this year. Today is the last dome meet (indoor meet) of the year and I did not make it to any meets. My own running kind of took priority, but also there were not too many of my competitive club kids there (nor the school that currently work at). Next week they move outdoors and I will be going to most of those meets. It is a very weird feeling to not be at the dome one afternoon a week.

Thought 5 – Yesterday was Monday, Today is Friday

I have a super short week at work. On Monday, we had Easter Monday, so schools were closed. On Tuesday, Max had a high fever, so I had to stay at home with him. That made Wednesday my Monday. Today is my Friday as I have an unpaid day off scheduled for tomorrow (was supposed to be on a trip). Max is going to daycare tomorrow, so a day off for me! I’m going to do exciting things like getting the oil changed in my car and cleaning….

Thought 6 – No chocolate

My desk does not have any chocolate on it and that makes me sad :-(. Maybe I will be lucky and some students will be selling cupcakes in the hallway.

Alright – time to supervise the masses!

I used to be a huge Greys fan but haven’t watched it since we got rid of cable a couple years ago. I think I need to catch up! Sad Christina is leaving- she was one of my favs too.

All the Easter chocolate is gone so I had to buy some chocolate bark at Costco. Sooo good!

    Hope lunch duty went well!

Lunch duty was pretty boring, but its only 30 minutes, so not that bad!

I bought some Reese PB eggs and they were NOT good – so that is the only kind I have left. I also have some fancy chocolates from the Calgary airpot (robotic parents got it for me) that I still need to eat. But I had nothing at work. Even the students wouldn’t share πŸ™

I’d be more than happy to share some of my chocolate with you! I’m currently up to my eyeballs in cocoa-goodness thanks to some overly enthusiastic parents, and I have no idea what to do with it all. Do you prefer milk or dark? And bunnies or eggs? πŸ˜‰

Lucky! My parents just got me a bunny and I forgot it at home, so my Mom ate it….

Dark chocolate and eggs are my faves!

I have way too much chocolate in my house… come on down to Sunny Florida! I had pizza for lunch…and am also having it for dinner. Gotta get in one last “college” meal before I graduate next week πŸ˜‰

Don’t tempt me with going down to Florida – need some heat (still chilly here) and American foodz!
