Thinking Out Loud Thursday #11

Happy Thursday

To be truthful – I did not know it was Thursday today until I saw all the TOLT posts on my blog reader… Opps?

Linking up with Amanda at Running with Spoons – another Thinking Out Loud Thursday

#1 Working from Home

It is not very often that teachers get to work from home. The only time one can work from home is if they happen to teach an online section. Since my employer is increasing the sections of online courses, I was moved from in-class to online this summer. So for 6.5 hrs (probably more), I get to sit in front of my computer and teach, rather than going to school from 8am-4pm. I can also split up my hours and watch TV during “lunch”. It is going to be a nice change. It does require some organization and computer know-how. If you struggle with writing emails – than online teaching isn’t for you.

#2 New Book

I was given a Chapters gift card when I left my previous school – so I went and bought a new running book: Feet, Don’t fail me Now: The Rogue’s Guide to running the Marathon. Hoping it is good!

#3 Speaking of running

I still haven’t run much this week. I had an X-Ray yesterday and have booked a physical therapy appt. to have a running assessment completed. I’m still not thinking stress fracture, but more muscle/tendon issues. I am thinking about going for a short, easy run at 3pm actually.

#4 Frizz Hair

The weather lately has been hot and humid – which does wonders for one’s hair. I left for track on Sunday with wet hair. It looked all nice until I stepped outside – then instant frizz! But my hair is longer now!

#6 Cake Donuts

Tim Horton’s had free donuts on their anniversary date – but only one kind: Birthday Cake Donuts. Tim Horton’s had never had them before, and they were amazing! It tastes just like one of those funfetti cupcakes. Last week I noticed that they put the birthday donuts on the menu. Let’s just say I have had more than one in the last week.

I have no picture because I ate the donuts too fast

Alright – break over – time to get back at it!

Have a great Thursday!

They are! So good! I thought they would be like those old fashioned donuts – but they are just like eating a slice of cake!

      Will do!

  4. Kristen @ Glitter and Dust

I have been teaching online courses for a year now and it is definitely a change from the classroom. I love the flexibility and variety of students/personalities that are in the class, but it does require a lot more planning and organization from my end. Are you only teaching online during the summers? I had two doughnuts this morning and they were simply amazing.

Yes – only online in the summer. The online courses in my board during the school year are only offered to permanent teachers (which I am not) and you are only allowed one class at a time (and you have to work in a school). Summer school is the only time we can work from home.
