Not going to lie, one of the main fitness things I have been slacking in lately is strength workouts and other cardio. I tend to spend most of my free time getting my running workouts in, and therefore don’t really have all the time to get a strength workout in. Generally, I tend to focus on strength in the winter months when I don’t run as much (and when I have access to a gym). Right now I do not have a gym membership and quite honestly it is too expensive for me to join a gym. I’ve been looking at more fitness apps lately to do more workouts at home.
The Fitness Games is a fun, social fitness app that not only has your usual blend of workouts, but also provides you a social aspect to an app by allowing to to challenge your friends who also use the app. The Fitness Games has four main workouts: Strength, Cardio, Full Body and Cross Training.
I have limited equipment at home, so I really only used the full body and cardio workouts. You can use a workout that is provided on the app, or you can create your own workout! There is a feed on the app that shares your fitness games successes with your Fitness Games friends – you can even post a post-workout selfie! There is also a workout tracker where you can list your workouts. Don’t know any moves? If you click on the workout move, they have text and pictures to explain.
The Fitness Games is an interesting app – but not something I would probably use for a long time. I tend to get bored of fitness apps or any online fitness tool. I wouldn’t use the app for tracking my fitness as that is what I use my blog for and Garmin Connect/Daily Mile. I also had a bit of a problem with forgetting my password and it took some troubleshooting to get my profile back up. The Fitness Games developers have been taking comments/suggestions from other Sweatpink bloggers and have made several changes to make the app easier to use. It is a very nice looking app and is available at the App Store for your iPhone or iPad and is not available for Android users.
The Fitness Games through their partnership with Fit Approach. I was not compensated monetarily, but was provided the Platinum Version of the application for review. As always, all opinions are my own.
