Thinking Out Loud Thursday #25

Happy Thursday!

Linking up with Amanda at Running with Spoons.

#1 No Snow Day

All the kiddies in Ottawa were disappointed that today was not a snow day. The weather was pretty bad last night, but Ottawa snow removal was on top of things and the roads are now clear. The drive home yesterday was fun. Took almost an hour as traffic was backed up. Normally my drive to Westboro is 15 minutes. What I didn’t like was the amount of bad language being directed at the school board and transportation authority (people who make the decision) twitter accounts. There is no need to tell them to go “do” something (replace “do” with another delightful word) to themselves or joke about cutting/rape/other inappropriate comments. I think this deserves a #smh.

Great view of the highway

Max was so excited about snow that he decided to just randomly go outside to the backyard and take a walk. With no boots or snow pants. He came inside going “ahhh, I’m cold!!”

#3 Speaking of Max

It is his birthday this weekend. He is excited for cake and balloons!

#4 YAY Steph!

Congrats to Stephanie for a kick ass marathon at the Tucson marathon – 4:04! Wow!

#5 Dirty Classrooms

One of the most popular searches that brings people to my blog is “dirty classrooms”. I wrote a post back a few years ago about how gross my summer school class was, especially the keyboard. In another school, the science classes did a test and found that the keyboards were the grossest item in the school in terms of bacteria and whatnot. Black fingerprint marks on the keyboard are just so gross. I cannot touch a keyboard with that kind of dirt on it. Yuck!  Schools in general tend to be filled with clutter and dust. I would love to get a dumpster for my department office and get rid of all the clutter.

#6 NYC Marathon Videos

Funny enough, other than the official NYC Marathon broadcast, I have not watched a single video of the 2014 NYC Marathon. Until last night. I finally went on Youtube and watched a couple of videos of people with their GoPro cameras. I still have a number of videos to watch, but it was fun watching the three that I did view last night. One video was someone in the green corral and had his sound going on the first bride. The sound of the wind was so loud! I was thinking the other day about how I remember some parts of the marathon, but it does seem like it went by so fast and I cannot remember everything. Watching this one video sparked a few memories from the route. I also wondered whether I would forget most of the marathon one day. I tried to remember my very first 5K, but most of it seems very distant. I remember parts of the day before the 5K in 2010, but not much of the race. I don’t even remember what I wore. Now this was before I started blogging, so perhaps the memory loss is because I didn’t write down what happened. Who knows!

K – time for work! Have a great Thursday!

haha, Max goes “HEY DAVE, LISTEN UP!!” when he wears the shirt. I also think he has half of what Gru says memorized….

Is it a Chinook? Alberta always seems to get that weird warm weather in the winter sometimes. Ottawa is just cold…
