#1 – New afternoon job

I have somewhat talked about my job situation before, but in September I was only able to get one class per day to teach, rather than the usual 3 classes that Ontario high school teachers are scheduled to have. I would teach my one class in the AM, and then fill up my days with supply work, either at the high school where I was placed or at other elementary schools. This weekend I was told that I could get another class in the PM at the school I used to teach at. Sold! Both schools are 5 minutes away from each other so it is really easy. The school I work at in the PM is only 2 minutes from my house. My schedule is different on even numbered days vs. odd numbered days. On odd days, I work from 10am-2pm almost straight, and on even days I teach first and last period – which gives me a four hour gap in the middle of the day. Although I’m sure in January, I will be busy with supply work – I am taking advantage of that big gap to get some workouts in. It has been a 1.5 years since I’ve worked at the “new school” – and it was definitely weird to be back, but a good weird! Right now my schedule remains until the end of January – then all of us “long term occasional workers” get put back in the giant pool and who knows where I will be.

#2 – Luxe Box

My winter Luxe Box arrived this week. Luxe boxes are filled with various beauty and make-up items that are either full-sized or sample sized. Many of the products can be found at Sephora or other beauty stores. My last Luxe box had this amazing face cleanser that I need to get the next time I go to Sephora. I ordered a speciality pack for a few $ extra and could see what I would be getting this time around. In my box, I got a eyelash curler, mascara, OPI nail polish, a skin cleanser and a skin hydrator. If you like to sample beauty products, give Luxe Box a try (referral link)

#3 Florescent Lights

Does anyone else hate florescent lights as much as I do? I work in buildings that have next to no natural lights and the lights just make my eyes feel so tired. I have noticed a few staff members have brought in their own lamps to work to try and soften the light a bit. I might have to do the same!

#4 Would it really be that hard for my employer to:

Purchase better toilet paper?

I mean, seriously – it is sand paper and I am thinking about bringing my own….

Awful, Awful stuff

#5 Christmas Movies

It is time to watch all the Christmas movies. I am actually not a big fan of most Christmas movies. I do watch White Christmas and It’s a Wonderful Life but that is about it. I also should sit down and watch The Holiday too – some argue that it isn’t a true “Christmas Movie”, but I say it is. If you can say that Die Hard is a Christmas movie, then the Holiday should be considered one too! I also need to catch up on all the 24 episodes on Netflix. I know, not a Christmas show, but since all the TV shows are on hiatus, it is the perfect time to get through another season.

#6 Christmas Office Parties

I am totally envious of people who get to go to these magical things called “Christmas Parties”. I am talking about the getting all dressed up, having a great dinner, live entertainment and I’ve heard rumours of free taxi drives home (?!?). I find that they do not happen as much as they used to anymore. My version of a “Christmas Party” is either a) Potluck or b) Pay $ to go to a Christmas party. There is one for my department tonight, but since it is Track night and I would have to leave only 10 minutes after the party started, I’m skipping it.

That is all I have for today! Have a great Thursday!

Yes, yes, YES to hating fluorescent lights! There are 3 booths in the Starbucks I frequent, and each has a light hanging over top. Well, one of the three has one of those annoying energy saver lightbulbs in it, and I refuse to sit there — totally ruins the whole warm and cozy vibe!

I’m with you on the fluorescents! They make me instantly tired. I don’t really do Christmas parties, except for the one on Christmas Eve that my family has with our whole family and my friend’s family since they come into town and stay with us every Christmas 🙂

I have never heard of Luxe Box before! What a cool idea. My office holds our annual Christmas party in mid January which is actually really nice. December can feel so busy and its nice to have another excuse to dress up and celebrate after the holiday rush is over.

That tree looks beautiful! Also, the luxe box sounds pretty sweet! Except I probably wouldn’t end up using most of it because I’m lazy haha.
