Running Inspiration Board

runningboard

A few months ago, my bulletin board in my office started to take a different turn. I used to have a calendar and a few other items posted on that board, but more recently more and more running items were taking over. I found my old caricature of me hurdling and also promptly added my NYC Marathon bib to the board when I came back from the Big Apple. I then noticed that I had my 2012 Ottawa 10K and 2014 Army Run bibs still, which are my PB races for those distances. After completing the 2014 Resolution Run, which is now my 5K PB time, I have a full collection of “PB Bibs”.

So then, I thought – why stop there and I totally re-organized my bulletin board so it is completely running-centric. I have my Heisenberg poster from last year’s 10K, my NYC medal and a few other keepsakes. Yesterday, I found a white board sticky that I attached to the board so that I can list my PB times. I cut out the Asics NYC marathon advertisement and added a few pictures of the Track team and a picture of Max and I at a race. In the bottom of the picture, you can see my Mini-Me NYC Marathon statue and my NYC Photo Album.

I still need to do something about the rest of my medals. Right now they are on the verge of collapse, hanging on a large picture frame in my office. I think I want to make one of those medal holders and hang it on the other side of the wall where this board is placed.

Do you have a running wall?

What do you do with all your running stuffs? Do you keep everything?

I do! But it’s getting out of control…I need to get another thing to hang them on because it’s way too crowded!!

I don’t have a running wall but I have a motivation board that I put pictures and write my races and goals for the year. I think they are a great visual reminder of your goals.

A separate wing of the house always works well.

Awesome! My running wall has been dismantled until I move into a more permanent housing situation, but I loved it when it was up. I proudly displayed all my bibs and medals and certificates (okay fine, there were just two certificates, but still!).

I keep everything running/race related. My office has three bulletin boards, each with several medals hanging from them. I keep stickers, ribbons, newspaper clippings, etc and pin them to the boards. My race bibs hang from a piece of yarn, strung across the border of the room from the ceiling. It definitely motives me!
