Another Thinking Out Loud Thursday – linking up with Amanda at Running with Spoons
Did you catch the finale last week? Parenthood is over now and that made many people sad 🙁 They finished up the series in a pretty predictable manner, but gave closure on the series. It ended quite nicely. But, I wouldn’t say it was the strongest of episodes. I really think that the very last episode could/should have been stretched to two hours. The whole episode seemed a bit rushed. Plus, I always enjoy more Braverman!
#2 Photoshop Fun!
As I mentioned yesterday – I am teaching a Comm Tech course this semester – and instead of traditional prepping for classes, I concentrate on re-learning photoshop instead! The students have most of the class to work on their projects, since 90% of them do not have photoshop at home – BUT, I spend the first 10-15 minutes giving a short tutorial. Today’s tutorial was having having Multiple Max’s on one picture:
I did accidentally cut off the middle Max’s foot – whoops
#3 Potato Chips
I do love potato chips – but I rarely go away from the traditional flavours like BBQ, plain, all dressed and sour cream&onion. Those special Lay’s flavours like poutine and maple syrup were really boring and bland. Give me BBQ any day and I will be a happy camper.
We are getting to the point of winter where I am getting tired of the following:
– my never clean car
– lugging around indoor shoes everywhere
– salt stains
– loosing my gloves
– crappy hair
– bulky winter jackets
It was the coldest January in Ottawa since 1994 or something like that. We did not get as much snow but it definitely was a cold month! I’m hoping for warmer weather soon!
#5 Tattoo Soon
I am going to get another tattoo on the 24th. I went in too see my tattoo artist the other day and gave him my ideas for a design. He is working on creating my idea now and on the 24th, I go in to get a running tattoo! Yay! The place where I am getting the tattoo done (Barnstormer) is in the Glebe and conveniently located a few doors down from my favorite brewpub, Clocktower. So far we have been to Clocktower twice in the past month. That is a record for us since having Max. Of course, when I get my tattoo done, P and Max will be waiting at the Clocktower, probably eating chicken wings.
Speaking of chicken wings – I ordered a side of onion rings the other day and Max went to town on them. I’ve never seen a child obsessed with onions before. Max loves cooked onions and would probably eat a small bowl of sautéed onions. I made perogies the other day for lunch and rather than eat the delicious perogies, he sat and picked out the onions.
#7 Ski time next week!
I finally get to go to Ski Club next week! Ski club is when a school goes to a local ski hill with busloads of students to enjoy an evening of skiing. It is a big club at many Ottawa area schools. We have several small ski hills within a 30-40 minute drive, so it makes it easy to get out for an evening. Before, I did not have my own skis, so I didn’t bother going. Then, I had track on Tuesday evenings – which meant I couldn’t go. But now, I have a free Tuesday next week and get to join in on the skiing fun! I have never skied at night before – any tips/tricks?
Alrighty – time to bounce!
Have a wonderful Thursday!
