Thinking Out Loud Thursday #38

Happy Thursday!

Bit of a different Thursday today as I’m probably missing out on my competitive club track practice tonight – but will be at the dome with my high school crowd. I don’t have a babysitter for Max, so he has to come with me. I can handle him during the super quiet hours at the dome between 3:30 and 5 – but not that crazy time from 5:30-7:30 (Jane knows exactly want I’m talking about!).

Short Thinking Out Loud Thursday – linking up with Amanda at Running with Spoons.

#1 Running in the AM

I have run a couple times this week in the AM. My afternoons are fairly busy, so if I get to school early enough, I can get a good run in before classes start. I ran 5K the other day, but only 3K today as some GI issues sprung up, which is always a risk for me when I run in the morning. Also, having a giant salad with dinner probably didn’t help. It was too bad, as my legs were feeling awesome-sauce. I have some time today to maybe go out for another short run this afternoon before I have to head to the indoor track. I also did some weights in my office.

#2 Spring weather on the weekend

I’m also trying to save some mileage for the weekend. The weather is looking like that super-great running weather that only happens in Ottawa for a few weeks before the humidity comes out. 16-18C and sunny – sweet! I might actually get a long run in!

#3 LANNI!!

Exciting news for Ottawa Race Weekend 10K Runners as Lanni Marchant has confirmed that she will be running the 10K. I will gladly let her kick my butt ;-).

#4 Better Call Saul and Mad Men

I’m really enjoying Better Call Saul – it is a bit different from Breaking Bad, but still a well-written show that brings on laughs and some super sad moments. I still have to watch the season finale. The premise of the show is how Jimmy McGill becomes Saul Goodman. There are a number of Breaking Bad characters in the show and hopefully we will see Walt and Jesse towards the end of the show. Mad Men has also returned for the final episodes of the series. I started watching Mad Men while on maternity leave. I’m thinking I have to re-watch the entire series again. So good!

#5 Speaking of shows…

Does anyone else get really, really annoyed by the happenings in the end of season 6 and the beginning of season 7 of Gilmore Girls? I’ve watched GG so many times that I practically have the lines memorized, but season 7 was super disappointing. But that is what happens when the main writers leave….

Time to go!

Have a great Thursday!

I hate when I am feeling really good and my legs are strong, but experience GI issues. It can be incredibly frustrating because it completely disrupts the flow of the run (and mindset). A salad will definitely do that to you.

I have never watched Gilmore Girls, but hear it is really good. Maybe once I finish Parenthood, I will give it a chance.

Oh! And you missed someone going ballistic on my high school team (dropping f-bombs and everything) because they were warming up in lane 1 …..and he was all “why the f*** are you in lane 1” even though I explained its dome rules and general track knowledge that lane 1 is recovery/walking (even though the little kids forget that from time to time).
