Happy Thursday! Another Thursday, linking up with Amanda at Running with Spoons
Ok – not a big surprise if you follow me on Instagram – but I’m in California. Actually, more like was in California as I’m currently high up in the sky flying home. Like our March trip, I vague-blog a bit about leaving for a trip. P has been down in California since the beginning of July (another surprise – since I vague blog about being alone in my house too), and Max and I were finally able to come down to California as summer school was finishing up. Max and I flew to California on our own. We had to wake up at 3:30am to catch the first flight out of Ottawa. It wasn’t too bad. Max actually woke up without a fuss and was great on the flight. Not a single tear and he even took a nap. The plane was full, so we had a stranger seat buddy on the aisle seat. It turns out he had a late night at the “Just for Laughs” festival (Comedian, Brad Williams was on our flight). He spent most of the flight sleeping.I felt awful waking him up a couple of times so Max could go to the bathroom. He didn’t mind at all. Let’s hope today’s flight goes well!
I will write a whole post on Disney later – but yes, Mr. Max got to go Disneyland again. We were able to go on more rides this time and had fun. Max is now able to go on Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain. He didn’t like Thunder Mountain because of the effects, but didn’t mind Space Mountain. I will leave you with this picture of my face on Space Mountain. Because Max was with P, I had no idea if Max was scared or not. The ride is pretty fast. Max didn’t mind, actually he was more annoyed that he didn’t get to go on the “big spaceship” in the middle of the loading area….
#3 Trader Joe’s
I’ve been to Trader Joe’s 3x in less than a month! That is some kind of record (for me). I wish we had a Trader Joe’s closer to Ottawa :-(. In California, since we only had a 20 minute drive to one, we were able to try out some of the frozen/perishable items. The Mandarin chicken is still one of my fave items. I also tried the Mushroom Risotto (yummy) and the layered dip. I also tried the guacamole, but that is one item I probably won’t buy again.
#4 No more Summer School!
I finished summer school last Thursday, which means I am free until at least September 7th. I still have no idea what I’m doing this school year, but should find out in about 3 weeks or so. This year’s summer school session was fairly easy – no big problems. Except my pay- it is never fun to see 50% of your pay go to taxes and other deductions. Even though our summer school gross pay has been the same for 5 years, my net pay keeps going down – yay?!?
Alright – time to go. Have a great Thursday!
