Happy Monday!
As you read this – I’m up in the sky flying to Halifax, Nova Scotia. I’ve been invited to CFB Greenwood to learn about careers in the military (I’m a Careers Studies teacher). I have a few posts for this week already written and scheduled, but I will tell you all about my trip when I get back.
Brittany over at My Mama Journey organized a Fall Gear exchange for Canadian bloggers. The idea was to exchange a few items to get us all ready for Fall and connect with one another. I sent my Fall into Fit exchange buddy, Tracey a few goodies. Check out her blog to see what I sent her! The idea was to send a few different items including a recipe, a book, exercise DVD, some sort of small gear item and a motivational quote.
Leanne was the blogger selected to send something to me. Leanne and I both live in Ottawa (and are fellow #TeamAwesome members) so Leanne just dropped off my package to my house. Of course, Max thought it was for him and immediately tore into the bag.
So what did Leanne send me?
Can you see Mark Sutcliffe peeking out of the bag? lol.
Leanne sent me the following items:
Why I Run by Mark Sutcliffe.
If you haven’t read this book yet – you need to. Especially if you are running NYC. Mark tells a bunch of running stories in his book and it truly is a good read. He focuses on the NYC Marathon for a few chapters, including a “By the Numbers” section detailing his day when he ran NYC. The book also discusses a few other races including Ottawa Race Weekend and Around the Bay.
Breast Cancer Awareness bracelet (I’m wearing it right now)
Recipe for no-bake energy bars – I’ve never tried making my own energy bars before. The recipe seems easy enough!
Rev-Abs workout “The 4×4” – I haven’t tried it yet, but considering my core is weak, I should!
I Run like a Girl headband – Love the headband but really like the message. Lanni is all about the “Run like a Girl” movement, so you know I’m a fan
Quote: “Out on the roads, there is fitness and self-discovery and the persons we were destined to be” by George Sheehan
Thanks so much Leanne and I’m hoping to meet you (and go for some runs!) really soon!
If you want to check out who else participated in the #FallintoFit blogger exchange – check out the link-up below!

Oh that’s so much fun! I was thinking about joining this exchange but it slipped my mind. Maybe next time.
