Another Thinking Out Loud Thursday – linking up with Amanda at Running with Spoons.
#1 Remember that assignment
I mentioned last week that I had a final project due and I was just about finished. Well, think again! Apparently I didn’t complete it “properly” so I had to re-do it. We had to post our assignments on a discussion board, so I could see what others submitted. Looking at all the papers, we all did the same thing so I’m assuming most of the class was in the same position as me. It was just a horrible assignment that was poorly set-up and really made very little sense.
I had an MRI done on my back on Tuesday night. The Montfort hospital here in Ottawa has an MRI clinic in Orleans and that is where I went. The queue for the MRI was surprisingly very short and I only had to wait about a month for my appointment. The whole MRI process was a little freaky, but also kind of cool. I wasn’t concerned about the close quarters, but more anxious that a paper clip or some random metal object would be flying into the giant magnetic donut. I’m not sure anything will be found in my back. My leg is not causing me any problems at all right now.
It is so nice out right now. I usually run at the indoor track on Thursdays, but I think once again, I will be skipping it in order to run outside before practice. Ottawa has had only one snowfall this year and looking at the forecast, it appears we will not be getting any snow for the next few days. Are we going to have a green Christmas?
#4 Check out Team Awesome 2016
The profiles for the members of Team Awesome for Run Ottawa 2016 is finally up. Check out who will be participating in the 2016 Ottawa Race Weekend and perhaps sign up soon to join in on the fun! Some names might be very familiar to you – a number of STWM Digital Champions are involved as well as Ottawa-area runners. With Team Awesome, the group is spread out through the 4 races (5K, 10K, Half and Full) – so no matter the race, one of us will be there. Stay tuned for some fun group runs and other Run Ottawa events.
#5 Some photos from Run Ottawa’s Saturday 5K
Thanks to Ian Hunter who takes pictures of most of the Run Ottawa events. Here are some of my pictures. Clearly, I look a bit tired in these pictures….
Except it really should be titled December AND January birthday. This whole post is so very, very true. Max, P and I all have birthdays in December/January with Max and I have birthdays less than 2 weeks before/after Christmas. Don’t even get me started about kid birthday’s in the winter. This one is 100% true:
20. You end up getting really apathetic about your birthday after years of no one being around to celebrate it…
I pretty much have given up on having “a birthday” a long time ago. I usually just go out for burgers and beer and call it a day. Actually, I don’t even remember what I did on my birthday last year……
Probably nothing. BUT – this year I am at track on my birthday. Birthday hats on the track required?
Ok – that is all for today! Have a great Thursday!
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post about some great Brook’s Running Gear!
