Thinking Out Loud Thursday #72

Another Thinking Out Loud Thursday – linking up with Amanda at Running with Spoons

#1 Home Reno Project 1 – The Fireplace

We are tackling a number of home reno projects this winter break. There are a few projects that will be done later on in February (like the hardwood flooring) because of Max. But a few projects can be started right away – including the fireplace. We are re-painting the red wall thing, installing¬†a new mantle (which was made by us) and re-tiling the hearth. It will look so much better than the McDonald’s wall that was there before!

#2 Happy Christmas Eve!

Hope everyone is having some fun tonight. We are going to a friends house for a little bit, followed by going home to watch “It’s a Wonderful Life” and wrapping presents. Nothing too spectacular!

#3 They took Elf off Netflix?!

I promised my class that if we worked hard last week, we would watch Elf on the last day of classes. The day arrives, the work is done – so I load Netflix and try to find Elf. It was gone! Apparently Netflix took it off their streaming service a couple of weeks ago. Right before Christmas. Figures! We found another way to watch it though! I’m running out of things to watch on Netflix. I was trying to find a decent movie the other night and it was either a stupid comedy or something way too serious. I am re-watching Grey’s Anatomy right now and reminded how much better the series was back in the early seasons.

#4 No Christmas Baking

I don’t really Christmas bake – but I do make Christmas soup. I usually make Butternut Squash soup during the holidays. I made a batch last night for dinner. It was delicious!

#5 – I might actually make it

To the end of my cell phone contract…..

I usually get a new phone a couple of months before my contract is up – taking advantage of any cell phone price deals. I sell my old phone and use that money to “buy” the new phone with a 2-3 year contract. I sold my iPod touch to buy the iPhone 4, and then the iPhone 4 to buy the 5S. But now new iPhones are stupid expensive. I’m also on a corporate plan, which makes things a bit complicated. I have a really good cell phone plan that can’t really be matched by any regular plan. I have zero interest in android phones and zero interest in paying hundreds of dollars for a phone – so I might just stick with the 5S for awhile.

That is it for today РHave a great Christmas everyone!

I went to watch Elf on Netflix last night too. I’m glad I wasn’t crazy though because I could have sworn I saw it there before! I found another way to watch it too but still, really netflix!

My 5C, dropped and completely shattered and busted on Christmas Eve. Since my phone is only a year old, my options are to pay for them to fix it (so thankful I bought that insurance plan) or pay full retail for a new phone. Either way, I’m out $$$ I didn’t plan on spending!
