Another Thinking Out Loud Thursday – linking up with Amanda at Running with Spoons.
#1 Under Pressure
I’ve talked about how we are preparing to sell our home this spring. The fireplace is almost done – it is being inspected today. We are also getting new appliances delivered this morning. Super fancy! But along with all of this “preparing to move” stuff, we have yet to really make a decision: West or East. We are moving for sure, but where we are moving to is still unknown. Eventually we have to decide. I was also asked at one point this week at school where I wanted to end up, school wise. I am “on staff” at three different schools, and probably will have to make a decision about where I end up next year. The decision might be made for me if I’m surplussed but still – a decision will have to be made.
#2 Exam paper size
I rarely have to make an exam since I tend to teach subjects that have projects at the end rather than a test. I am teaching geography this semester and geography has an exam. I spent a few hours this week creating the exam. I used to like making exams but now it is just such a process. Anyways – does anyone know why exam papers have to be 8.5×14 (Legal) sized paper?
#3 I finally cut my hair…
Thanks to instagram, I realized that it had been 31 weeks since my last haircut. That is a long time! So, I booked an appointment with my hair stylist. I used to have a bob haircut and it took a long time to grow out my hair due to all the layering. Every haircut since I’ve had layers and texturizing done on my hair. When my hair is shorter, it works. With longer hair, not so much. My shorter layers were finally long enough to do a bit cut and even everything out. We cut about 3 inches off and my hair is much better
#4 Late for Work
I was late for work today. It took me 1.5 hours to drive 17KM. Yes, I could probably run to work faster. Horrible traffic out of Orleans. I always arrive at work early and give myself an hour to get to work. It normally takes me about 25 minutes in the morning. There was no reason for the traffic other than a couple of cm’s of snow on the ground. Lots of school buses were delayed too. Just not a great commuting day!
#5 RIP Alan Rickman
When browsing Twitter this morning and pressed the search button and Alan Rickman’s photo appeared. Alan Rickman was one of my favorite actors. I still have some Alan Rickman movies to watch, but Harry Potter and Die Hard are “must watch” movies in my house. I even have a Slytherin scarf – mostly because of Snape/Alan Rickman. A huge loss. I think an Alan Rickman movie is in order for tonight.
That’s all I have for today – have a great Thursday
