Thinking Out Loud #97

Another Thinking Out Loud Thursday – linking up with Amanda at Running with Spoons.

#1 Hey There

Another week of no blogging for me. June has been absolutely crazy for me and this week was no exception. It was the last week of school and because tomorrow is Canada Day, we end things a day early. I currently teach at two schools so that means double the fun on the last week. I went to two commencements and one prom. I made grad slide shows, took photographs at prom/graduation and also finished up all my teaching tasks. On top of that, I am gearing up towards online summer school time and have spent the last two days editing the course with my team. I have three days off and then back at it on Monday. Monday is already looking like a bit of a crazy day.

But don’t worry – I’m still running! I’ve managed to go on little 5K runs here and there.

#2 Canada Day Race

I have a bib – but there is a 50/50 chance I will show up. I want to go, but I also want to rip out all the carpet from my house. If I do go, it will be a bit of a time trial to see where I’m at in the 5K.

Olympic Trials for the USA are this weekend and next weekend is Canada’s turn – I’M SO EXCITED!!!!! Our head coach from my track club sent the coaches a spreadsheet of everyone competing next week, so I cannot wait to cheer them on from Ottawa. There are a few members of our team that are hoping to make it on the Olympic Team, so I’m super excited for them. It should be a great summer for track and field!

#4 Protein Bars

I went to the Bulk Barn last week and loaded up on some supplies for Protein Bars and a few other items. I’m always running around and far too often I grab a chocolate bar for a snack. I figured Protein bars were a better option and cheaper than buying Kind Bars or something of that kind. I will post a recipe eventually but with some quick oats, protein powder, peanut butter and assorted nuts/dried fruits, I made a delicious batch of protein bars. I do want to fix up a couple of ingredients including substituting cranberries for blueberries and trying almond butter or natural PB instead of the Kraft kind.

#5 This gem

I am in the process of cleaning out my closet and I found this gem: a paper from one of my last Masters classes. It was probably the worst paper I ever wrote and fully deserved the worst mark I “achieved” during my M.Ed. This professor went straight to the point and criticized my use of the English language.

Alright time to go and pick up Max – he is finished pre-school today. If you are wondering – I still haven’t registered him for school yet. One of these days I will….. 🙂

Have a great Thursday!
