Thinking Out Loud Thursday #109

Another Thinking Out Loud Thursday – linking up with Amanda at Running with Spoons.

#1 Wish I had a Home Day

Another busy week is coming to a close. I am still a bit sick from this cold and today I am feeling drained. I would love to spend the day at home, watching some TV/Netflix and probably catching up on my never-ending pile of marking. However, it is a busy day and instead of being at home, I am going to work a 12 hour day instead. To be honest, I don’t even know if I could handle a day of doing nothing nor can that kind of day exist. I would start have to get Max ready for school, take him to school and be with him after. I would also have to plan lessons for school. Sometimes it is just easy to go to work.

I’m also craving a pizza….(random)

#2 One last schedule change

Part of the reason I’m a bit more drained is that I have been covering some extra classes for the past few weeks. Things were made official last week and I’ve added two extra classes to my AM school. Now I work all morning at that school, along with my one class at my PM school. Days like today, I do not get a break until 2pm with the exception of 40 minutes at lunch, 20 of which are spent in my car. It will all be worth it as my schedule will really change in February when I no longer have to switch schools during lunch. I will be working at one school and one school only. I will also be AM only, but will most likely be covering classes in the afternoon.

#3 Nissan Sentra Gas Mileage

We drove the Nissan to Toronto last weekend and I was very surprised with the gas mileage. The tank is smaller than my Fusions and costs next to nothing to fill up. WIth my Fusion, I would get to Toronto with just under 1/4 of a tank of gas left. In my Nissan, with a smaller tank, I was left with over 1/4 of a tank of gas left. Impressive! The seats of the car are not comfy, but I would rather have better gas mileage. Max officially broke in the car with this road trip as he became car sick. Luckily most of the mess ended up in the (brand new) car seat than on the seats.

#4 Rattle me Bones?

I’m debating signing up for Rattle me Bones next weekend. We are already signed up for the Family 1K, but I am thinking about racing either the 10K or 5K as well. I’m really not sure which race I would rather run. I very rarely run 10K’s, so I’m not sure of my ability in that race. I could also just leave the 5K for the Cookie Run and do it as a ‘fun 5K’ instead as I’m not sure I have a sub-25 5K in me right now. I really need speed work to get into 5K shape and that will not be happening this week. There is the potential of a 10K PB though. I don’t think I will be running this one in a Banana Suit 😉

I know what you mean about wanting… no… NEEDING a down day. I often dream of what it would be like to curl up in a blanket and do nothing but watch Netflix and eat yummy food for an entire day. I should have taken advantage of time long ago. 🙂 I hope you feel better and can push through until the weekend. Does Max enjoy watching movies? I’m not sure at what age they have the patience for an entire movie. 🙂

I have always wanted to participate and dress up for a Halloween run. I don’t think we have anything like that around here.

I remember being 7 months pregnant and P was away for the weekend. I helped out with our Ontario XCountry meet, but went home and watched Bad Teacher while eating $40 worth of pizza take out. Such a great night. I was thinking today about the last time I’ve been alone overnight. It might have been a year ago when I went to Nova Scotia….

Max can definitely sit and watch a movie. I think around age 3 (but almost 4) is when they can tolerate it. I just feel horrible about letting him watch a show because I do that way too much in order to get my work today. But he also enjoys Legos, which can keep him busy for hours.

Looks like you had fun in Toronto! The aquarium is great (especially if it wasn’t too busy). Glad to see you found Nemo and Dory.

I forgot about the Rattle Me Bones run. That 1k run was the first run I ever did as a kid. And then I had a lot of fun running the 5k a few years later. I say go for it! 🙂

Unfortunately I’m not sure I am going to make it out for the 5K – BUT, I am running the Cookie Run next week. I’m just starting to feel normal again!

I feel you about some days it’s easier to push through rather than stay home. It sounds like things will simplify once your settled at one school.

I loved your banana costume btw 🙂
