#1 Costco Shopping
Ever since we moved and have more space, we have started shopping at Costco more frequently. We have had Costco cards for awhile, but really haven’t bought more than dishwasher soap and garbage bags. Now that I have more areas to store stuff, we have gotten into buying more food related items like pasta, quinoa, bear paws (for Max…ok, maybe for me too), juice boxes and other items. I organized my pantry last weekend and now have a whole shelf dedicated to beans, grains and other assorted items in jars/containers.
#2 Starbucks Birthday Reward
If you don’t know – Starbucks changed their birthday reward system so that you only have four days to use your birthday reward. According to Starbucks this move was to “truly celebrate” your birthday…..
Right – it sounds more like you are hoping that people don’t have the time to make it to Starbucks and forget to use their reward, therefore saving money. Luckily, I was able to make it to Starbucks at the last minute on Monday to enjoy a latte before my reward expired.
#3 Ice, Ice, Baby!
A few of us went out for a run this morning. We figured that the warmer temps (around 4C) would make it a fun run. Wrong!!! It was so icy out! Even the bare roads were full of trickery as there was this fine layer of ice making everything slippery. I barely had any traction on my shoes and was sliding all over the place. We also went up this giant hill and that was a real treat. I’ve never been more terrified to go DOWN a hill in my life 🙂
Speaking of running this morning. It is also ‘Track Thursday” and I have another pair of running shoes and clothes on hand for this evening. Lots of bags to take to work today! I will say that running with others actually gets me out there running more. If I was alone, I wouldn’t have run today. But in the end, I ran 5K!
The new Goodlife is open in Stittsville. The new club will be detailed in a post next week, but it is a nice gym! It is the first time I’ve been to a 2-storey GoodLife, and with that provides more space for everything. Lots of space for stretching/doing non-weight exercises, unlike the other two locations where there just seems to be very little space (like a few mats on the ground). More details next week!
