Another Thinking Out Loud Thursday – linking up with Running with Spoons.
#1 Toronto Zoo Visit
We went to Toronto last weekend for the Family Day long weekend. Since it was beautiful weather, we decided to head to the zoo (along with half of Toronto it seems!). Max really liked seeing all the animals, especially the Gorillas. When we arrived at the zoo, he kept telling us that he wanted to see the Gorillas the most. When we got to the Gorilla section, a Mom and child gorilla were play fighting, much to the amusement of all the little kids. Max was right at the front of the observation window and suddenly the baby gorilla jumped on the window with his hands up, right in front of Max. Max thought it was the best thing ever. We also saw the pandas, polar bears and rhinos. The baby rhino was having a blast in the snow.
#2 Trader Joes
After my race on Sunday, I figured that we were close enough to the border to warrant a visit to the Buffalo Trader Joes location. Because we were meeting up with my brother later, any chilled/perishable items were not bought. I think this is one of the biggest TJ hauls I’ve ever made. Some notable items bought are:
- Chia seeds
- Almond Flour for a significantly cheaper price than anywhere else
- Almond milk for my overnight oats
- three kinds of cereal
- Chocolate chip cookie sandwiches (I might have already had the whole box…)
- Picky Bars
- Pumpkin Loaf
- lots of cans of Cuban Black beans
I’m hopefully heading back to TJ’s soon to grab all the frozen necessities – and yogurt!
Still going strong on the best breakfast ever. I’ve been using almond milk instead and fresh fruit with chia seeds. Major staying power!
#4 Thinking about my spring race plan
I’m seriously considering altering my late spring races. I am thinking about just doing 5K and 10K races, as I believe I’m stronger at those distances. I’m also a bit worried about my track and field schedule and how it will impact getting my runs in. Not like the training plan I currently have in place will be altered. The plan I’m using is perfect for the 10K. Or I will just stick with my original plan and keep my tentative race schedule the same.
#5 LOL Max
sometime he takes my phone and takes photos…..
#6 This is Us vs. ER
I won’t spoil it if you have not seen this week’s This is Us episode – but for those who watch that show and watched ER. What was worse – This is Us vs Dr Greene ( you know what I mean…).
Have a great Thursday!
