Thinking Out Loud Thursday #126

Another Thinking Out Loud Thursday – linking up with Amanda at Running with Spoons.

#1 Pi Day/Pie Day

It was Pi Day on Tuesday where everyone celebrates Pi by eating pie. That is my kind of celebration! Who doesn’t love pie? Pie is probably my favorite dessert. I was at the grocery store and noticed that Key Lime Pie was on sale, so I figured, why not?

#2 This is Us Finale

Anyone else disappointed by this week’s This is Us season finale? It was an ok episode, but definitely anti-climatic for the type of show This is Us has been for the first season. Overall the series has been fantastic and I am already looking forward to next season. Basically I have nothing left to watch except Grey’s Anatomy and Fixer Upper. At least until Better Call Saul returns next month.

#3 Super Hero Muffins

Another winner in the Eat Fast, Run Slow cookbook is the Super Hero Muffins. I absolutely love these muffins and strongly encourage you to try them out. I’ve already made 2 dozen and pretty much devoured each muffin myself. The only problem I have with the muffins is the use of almond flour. So expensive! If only I had access to Trader Joe’s more often as then sell almond flour for something like $6.99 if I remember correctly. Bob’s Red Mill is $16.99 at the Loblaws. I tried the rural Bulk Barn for Almond Flour and I couldn’t find any – anyone else have any luck? Or a substitute?

#4 Four Hours of Quiet

Friday morning was a bit of an adventure in my house last week. A scheduling mix up meant that we had to decide very quickly how everyone was getting to Toronto. After checking prices/my parents for watching Max we landed on Max and P driving to Toronto at 9am, followed by me taking the train at 3:45pm. Train with no one = four hours of quiet! I watched two movies on the train: The September Issue and Captain Phillips. I recommend both, especially the September Issue if you are a fan of The Devil Wears Prada.

#5 Novel Study Time

My English class has to complete an independent novel study in the next few weeks – but instead of writing a report, they have to present the information to the class. The students could pick their own novel, but I brought some of my own books that they could select. A number of my books are on loan right now, along with a waiting list for some books. Our plan is less Netflix/Social Media and more reading!

That is it for today – Have a great Thursday!

Costco for almond flour! So much cheaper!!! Get a friend to pick you up a bag if you don’t have a membership. Also great price on coconut oil.
