Hi All!
I figured that Tuesday’s might be a good day for a little running update!
Yesterday I went to the gym to do a little treadmill workout. On average I do about 2.5K on the treadmill during a weekday workout. I rarely have time for more than that. BUT – depending on the snowfall that we are to get tomorrow, the sidewalks/trials should be cleared off enough soon that I can go for runs right after school which will allow me a bit more time. That and I really need to get Sunday long runs in!
I am hoping that spending some time on the treadmill this winter will pay off in being a bit faster this year. Normally, I do not run in the winter, but I’ve been trying to go at least once a week this year. Right now I am very consistent at the 6:00min/Km pace, which puts me at a 30:00 5K. I want to drop below 28:55, so I’m hoping that with race conditions I get there!

Army Run has already had 4000 people sign up for the race. Apparently they did not hit this point until May last year – so be warned, this race WILL sell out fast.
Chicago Marathon registration is still in shambles – another announcement will be made on Thursday about the remaining 15,000 bibs up for grabs! Are you planning on racing? Me? Not this time – maybe in the future as Chicago isn’t *too* far away.

Looking for volunteers!
I am organizing a water station for my school for the Ottawa Race Weekend (Marathon Route) on May 26th. We are trying to get a location where we will see both the half and full marathon, but right now our station is in Gatineau. We will be taking a bus there, which will leave from my school.
If you are interested – please let me know by sending an email to runningfoodbaby at gmail dot com, or sending me a tweet! We would love to have you join us! All ages are welcome – and for teens, this time does count for “community service hours”.

I think a 28min goal is a great one!!! I had contemplated the Chicago marathon this year, and ended up signing up for a different one! I’m definitely glad I made that choice now!
So many marathons – so little time!
I totally credit the treadmill for making me faster this year! Hope it helps you reach your goal!
I hope so!!
