Three Things Thursday: Race Wish List Edition

Hello All!

It is Three Things Thursday time, and as a change, I figured that I would do another theme-week. This week’s theme is: races I would like to run.

Race Wish #1 – The Disney Princess Half Marathon

The race is at Disney, almost everyone wears a tutu and you can wear a tiara!! Β Can you think of any other better race out there? No, I didn’t think so. After all the reviews about this year’s Princess Half, I definitely want in this race! Β There are some drawbacks including having to train in the winter, cost, and the fact that I can’t exactly take time off work….but it is a dream race for sure

Race Wish #2 – Boston Marathon

This will probably not happen as running a marathon at the pace needed to qualify for Boston is something that I really don’t think I can do – but you never know! I think most runners dream of qualifying for Boston. Right now, I will settle for watching it on TV. I think everyone does know that to enter Boston you have to have a qualifying time – something that takes quite a bit of training to accomplish. But when you do qualify, you are part of that “Boston Marathon” club. That and you get the Boston Marathon jacket πŸ˜‰

Race Wish #3 – City2Surf Sydney, Australia

This race is a 14KM race in Sydney, Australia that goes from the city to Bondi Beach. It seems like a fun race, but apparently has its challenges as well (including a 2KM hill called “Heartbreak Hill” . It would also be fun to do something other than a 10K or 21.1K. The race also a very large race of over 80,000 people – that is insane!

There’s always the option of running Boston as a charity runner. But I know I would find it so much more satisfying to qualify πŸ™‚

haha, true – but soooo not the same πŸ˜€

The princess race does sound fun!
This month’s Women’s Running magazine has a couple of interesting articles about the Boston Marathon. I love that the qualifying time for people in their 80s is not that far off my time! πŸ™‚ Boston isn’t in my future… but just the fact that I’m running marathons at all is a big enough deal for this former “running-hater.”
Your little guy looks like he’s not too sure about being out for that run! πŸ™‚ Love the faces they make… He’s a cutie!

haha – it was his first ride in the chariot in a long time – he likes is though. Gets to see the whole world πŸ™‚

I would love to do a Disney race! Whenever I end up doing a marathon it is definitely going to be Disney.

I’d love to run the NYC Marathon.

You must must must do a Disney race!! If you don’t want to run in the winter, do the Disneyland half in September!! That’s what I did, and you can STILL wear a tutu! People still dress up, it’s amazing..GAH I want to go back.

It would be an option! But we always have to go to LA in the beginning of August and 2 trips close together would be a bit much. Sucks because I have a place to stay too!
