Tuesday Running Update

Happy Tuesday!

If you did not read my post from yesterday, I went on my first chariot (jogging stroller) run of the season last night. It was pretty awful. I *may* get a treadmill run in this afternoon, but we will see. Also for those interested, I do write for Ottawa Mommy Club and wrote a post on grocery shopping tips. Go check out the post (and click on a few others too!)

What is going on in the running world:

Chicago Marathon: Because of the messed up initial registration, the folks over at Chicago marathon will be dishing out the last 15,000 bibs via a lottery system. The chance to put your name in the hat for a bib starts today and ends on Thursday. If Chicago is on your list of “marathons” – go here to sign yourself up for the lottery. Unlike the lottery system for NYC Marathon, this one has no cost and your credit card is not charge right away.

Ottawa St. Patricks Day Run: Have you signed up yet?  If not, why not? It is bound to be a fun race! Costumes are strongly encouraged and the route is very flat. The race is coming up fast (March 16th). I am running the 5K. We will see how prepared I am for that race when I’m running it 🙂

YAY Post: Congrats to Stephanie over at Now I Run for completing the Phoenix Marathon!! Way to go! Go check out her blog for her race report!

What I want to do: thanks to This Runner’s Trials and Running with Sass, I totally want to sign up for the RunDisney Princess half. I think if I started saving, I could afford to go – but since I cannot just randomly take time off from work/nor do I get to choose my vacation dates, logistically speaking, it would be a tad bit difficult to go (especially since direct flights are limited at Ottawa Airport). But we will see. It is definitely a dream race for sure!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Thanks so much for the shout-out about my race-recap!
The Ottawa race sounds like fun… I agree with TorontoRunner!
The Disney Princess run would be a lot of fun. I’m with you, though, on the cost. Hungry Runner Girl and Neon Running Shoes just went to a weekend running retreat that sounds like it would be fun to go to next year!

That retreat looked like fun! However Utah is wayyyy harder for me to get too (as a Canadian) than Orlando!

We have lots of great races here in Ottawa -I am very lucky!

I just popped over from Stephanie’s page. I see you were a Geography major and that convinces me you are a cool person. My PhD is in Geography and every person I meet with a degree in Geography is humble and laid back.

Hi and welcome! Yes – I would agree. I really enjoyed my time at university with my geography and earth sci friends – great friends and lots of memories 🙂
