Happy Thursday all!
Another hot day here in Ottawa-land. The heat is supposed to break this weekend. At least I am in a nice A/C’d building for a majority of the day. Otherwise I would be boiling! Alrighty – Three Things Thursday time:
Things #1 – NEW (to us…) CAR
We decided on a car this morning after seeing a few private sale people and going to a couple of dealerships. We bought a 2010 Ford Fusion this afternoon. It was a pretty big toss up between a 2009 Honda Civic and the Fusion for a day. We found the two cars Tuesday night and tossed and turned in the decision process until this morning. The Civic was a nice lil sporty vehicle, but have double the amount of KM’s and was smaller than the Fusion. The Fusion’s previous owner was an old man who lived at a retirement home. The car was in sparkling condition and had only 41,000KM on it. So after P negotiated on the price, the car was ours. We are picking it up tomorrow after work – yay! The only con to the Fusion is the colour – it is “champagne” or a really light beige colour. Not exactly my choice – but whatever, I would rather have a working car!

Thing #2 – New Gmail?!?
The newest version of Gmail was loaded on all my accounts this afternoon. The new version uses a tab function that sorts your mail for you. Personally I like my own sorting process and do not need Google to do it for me. So therefore I turned it off. The tab names were pretty stupid anyways. First they get rid of Google Reader and now this? Come on Google….
Thing #3 – Run last night
Last night was a Twlight Meet with the local track and field club that occurs every Wednesday night. Just before 8pm, I noticed that we had a break in between the sprinting events, so I decided to go on a quick 3K run. I ran in the Mooney’s Bay area and a bit on Riverside Drive. The heat had finally given away a bit so it was a nice run. Great views too! I ran a fairly steady run (not too sure on splits as I was running with my iPhone, not the Garmin) running 3K in 17:23ish minutes. 3K was about my limit last night, as at 3K I did not feel so hot (I did only plan on running 3K though).
