I just got back from night class – it was a brutal class. Over two hours of presentations = me an angry bear! I almost lost it at one point because the presentation was not a presentation, it was a essay being read to the class. Only a few weeks more and I am done! I did notice that everyone had the same outfit on today: jeans, a sweater, and a scarf. I found it funny – and posted this selfie on instagram to comment on how everyone was dressed like me:
Anyhoo – some work related news. I received a month-long assignment/contract today which comes at the perfect time. Supply work has been ok, but I am making no where near what I used to (less than half) and I was a bit worried about Christmas. A month of full time work will give me enough money to get through December and January. I am crossing my fingers that the stars align and I get another assignment for second semester. Although there are many benefits to being an occasional teacher – but many downfalls. I am happy to be in an assignment for at least a little bit!
Speaking of looking at January, my 2014 planner came in today! I bought a planner from Plum Paper last year and really liked it, so I purchased a 2014 planner from them. I like the colours and design. I also appreciate a month at a glance calendar where I can put any important events. This is especially important when I am a track coach/supply teacher since my days are always different.
On Thursday, I missed my usual circuit workout because of parental miscommunication. I did happen to get a 5K run in during the morning since I was not due at work til after lunch. So to make up for that, I completed a similar circuit to what I was supposed to do on Friday. I did 50 seconds of running A’s, followed by an exercise (burpees, lunge jumps, ab work). Let’s just say that doing this kind of circuit after drinking a peppermint mocha is NOT a good idea. I almost hurled….
On Monday I ran 2 miles on the treadmill at a fairly easy pace. I finished the 2 miles in 20:54 – gradually getting faster as to try and work on the whole idea of negative splits. I feel very uncomfortable going faster on the treadmill. As I approached an 8:00 minute mile pace, I felt like one wrong move and I would be into the elliptical machines behind me. Don’t know how all of you go faster than that!
I doubt that I will get anything in tomorrow as it is going to be a busy day – but I will not be missing my workout on Thursday! No way!
