Thinking Out Loud #95

Happy Thursday! Linking up with Amanda at Running with Spoons.

#1 Busy June Weeks

This week has been a busy week. After OFSAA, school track practices tend to stop, but there is so many other events that follow. Last night we had our annual Athletic Banquet. Our school had a great year in Athletics, earning 8 city/OFSAA banners. My AM school is a pretty small school (less than 700 students?), so all the banners for sports is a pretty big deal. I presented the OFSAA banner for my athlete who won bronze at OFSAA last week and also presented him with male athlete of the year. It was a fun evening. Tonight we have our coaches banquet, which is usually a fun evening. I am going with my AM school but all my other schools will be there too, so I usually get to see some teacher friends again. Tomorrow I have another party with my PM school. I’ve been pretty busy with other things too – like making the slideshow for the athletic banquet and today I start distributing yearbooks + have a pizza lunch with my water station crew.

#2 Running?

Running/working out is pretty much not happening this week. I managed to go to GoodLife the other day, but that is about it. This is a pretty busy week and I think next week I will be able to get back to the regular routine. Today I have a bit of time this morning, but I’m baking for tomorrow’s party. Then I’m pretty much busy for the rest of the day. I will be focusing on strength and speed during the summer, so workouts will be a bit different. I have some lofty goals for my Army Run 5K and might even run a twilight meet at my track club. I’ve attempted to marathon train for two summers in a row, so I’m kind of glad to not have to focus on long runs and more on speed.

#3 Seriously?

I don’t know what is going on with traffic lately, but some drivers in my area are super impatient. The other day I was leaving the grocery store parking lot and was waiting to turn left. There was a pedestrian crossing the street, so I was waiting for the person to cross. But someone honked at me. People are also driving unreasonably fast too. My favorite is when people drive super fast, pass me and then I just catch up to them at a light anyways.

#4 Snapchat surgeries?

My students told me that there were plastic surgeons who were snapchatting through surgeries, so I ended up taking a look. I’ve been following Dr. Miami and Dr. Six (who is based out of Toronto). Pretty interesting stuff. If you are squimish at all, following their snapchat stories are definitely not for you. But they do provide lots of information about plastics. The Dr. Six one is really informative. Also warning, both accounts are totally NSFW. I also just found a dentist too. Cool stuff!

I am, clearly!

That is all for now – have a great Thursday!

Shouldn’t surgeons be focused on the surgery not snapchatting! I wouldn’t feel very comfortable going to that doctor.

They don’t do the snapchatting – they actually have “social media” assistants. The Dr Miami one also said he wouldn’t have been able to do it when he was a new doctor

Watching surgeries would definitely NOT be for me. I remember having to sit through an eye surgery in biology class and having to leave the romo because I Thought I was going to throw up. Eep.
